We’ve seen our share of kantha in our travels; the Winnie is a keeper. Wonderfully symmetrical, warmth of colour, captivating pattern.
A central panel runs vertically with intricate design, flanked by wide stripes (in a soft tomato red & white). The red colour is not sharp, it is wonderfully relaxed and a makes this side sing. The reverse is an inviting large floral in orange and aubergine, not unusual for kantha and while we prefer the front, this side is perfectly wonderful on its own.
Of slightly larger size for a vintage kantha, the Winnie has the flexibility to easily grace beds — not true of all. Whether covering the end of a bed, working magic in the sitting room, adding spunk to the kitchen or beautifully covering an ottoman, the Winnie will deserve her place.
