The Odette.
Hardwood floors with a thin rag rug in purple & green stripes, window shutters adorned with tiny hand-painted hearts, a closet overflowing with frocks that fell far short of their hangers, her grandmother’s old frilly lampshade sitting crooked on its base atop her bedside, fairy lights zigzagging the wall as a make-shift headboard. And the Odette kantha flopped curiously at the foot of an unmade bed piled high with mismatched cushions featuring an abundance of pink.
This attic bedroom may not be where our little lovely will find her home, but it fits our image of one possibility. One side a pale lilac and the lightest spring green accents with symmetrical embroidered flowers (majority in pink). The other side a muted yet cheerful teal/green plaid. The Odette is smaller in size which we always believe allows for more possibilities, not less.
All our kantha are hand-selected in Jaipur and, as with all vintage fabrics, signs of wear may be found. These perfect imperfections are genuinely part of their magic.
