Ohhh, the Pollyanna. All our kantha are personally selected in Jaipur; those that end up at shenouk are chosen with care. Most kantha are immediately dismissed, others considered carefully and a lucky few are ‘love at first sight’ finds that jump to the front of the queue. The Pollyanna swiftly landed in that last category.
Soft deep pink coupled with a warm, faded plum purple work perfectly against the neutral backdrop. She is really just stripes, thin stripes in windowpane formation, simple stripes, and then larger stripes otherwise called panels. But stripes with these mesmerising colours and this perfect layout are breathtaking. The reverse in royal purple stands striking as a gorgeous companion. Littered with small-scale print and bordered either side by palm tree motifs, all in a refined gold thread stitch.
Large enough to offer complete flexibility, but proportioned to still find favour in a kantha’s familiar home on a bench, chair or sofa, she’s as easy as she is delightful. Please refer to photos to balance these words which may prove an inadequate description of the beautiful Pollyanna.
